Our Creative Agents are highly skilled in making your ideas a reality. They work with you in sorting out logistics, the whys, the wherefores and how to firm up your project ideas into something extremely exciting.
Latest to join our Creative Agent team are Stephen Catchick, former secondary school teacher, IT specialist, drummer and DJ, and Claire Tinker, Primary specialist, creative writer and artist/photographer. Stephen is particularly interested in capturing the impact of creative work and developing e-portfolios. Claire Tinker is a specialist in Primary Teaching with years of classroom experience. She is currently completing her MA in education with a dissertation focused on creativity and learning.
We caught up with them both working on their new roles with mentor Rick Ferguson and asked a few quick questions…
What interests you about Creative Partnerships?
Claire: I am extremely interested in the issue of meaningful development of a creative curriculum and the opportunity to put my two passions together – creativity and teaching!
Stephen: Coming straight from the classroom I am interested in how children and young people are inspired and I'm delighted Creative Partnerships offers a chance to make this happen in a structured and sustained way.
What are you hoping to achieve?
Claire: I am at a crossroads in my career and want to see creativity coming to life in the classroom and some of the areas I have explored in my MA developed more intensively through Creative Partnerships work with schools.
Stephen: For me it is about really seeing creativity open doors for young people, giving them the space to explore and take risks.
What is your advice about how best to create a climate where creativity happens?
Claire: Children need to feel happy and emotionally secure – listening to their ideas and t preferences is key.
Stephen: I agree with that – plus it is brilliant to be involved in giving teachers and pupils the chance to really try out something they may have only dreamed about before.
