Eligibility and application process:
A summary of the national eligibility criteria is given below. Make sure you check the on-line prospectuses for full information. There are no specific local eligibility criteria other than quality of application.
Change Schools
- 19 new places have been allocated across South and West Yorkshire, in addition to the 50 current schools. We aim to have at least one new Change School in each Local Authority, providing that the application criteria are satisfied.
- Schools will be selected through application and interview. Short listed schools will be asked to bring in a team of up to 5 people to give a 10 minute presentation on their plans for creative development.
Eligibility is restricted to:
- maintained schools in England who have not previously been in receipt of Creative Partnerships funding (including Special Schools and Pupil Referral Units where continuity can be demonstrated in terms of the pupils and/or staff involved)
- maintained schools that have previously received funding from Creative Partnerships but have not been involved in programme activity for more than two years. If such schools are currently involved in the 2008-2009 Enquiry School programme, they are eligible to apply to the 2009-2011 Change School programme while their Enquiry School programme is still running.
Enquiry Schools
- 84 places have been allocated across South and West Yorkshire. We aim to have a number of Enquiry Schools in each Local Authority, providing that the application criteria are satisfied.
- Schools will be selected through application only.
Eligibility:
All state-maintained schools in England are eligible to apply to the programme. In addition to maintained schools, other educational settings may be eligible to apply to the Enquiry Schools programme, provided that continuity can be demonstrated in terms of the young people and/or staff involved.
A maximum of two years funding (i.e. two separate applications) is allowed through the Enquiry Schools programme and these may not normally be in two consecutive years, as time is needed for thorough reflection. An exception to this rule applies in secondary schools, or large primary schools (at least two form entry), where a completely different team can develop the new programme with a different group of pupils without distracting attention from the existing one.
Eligible schools are welcome to apply for both the Change and the Enquiry School programmes.
