The Extended Schools Cluster Group collaborated with a design team, including creative consultant, James Copp, who specialises in community engagement, to work with 10 schools within the Greater Adwick Neighbourhood Area. The pyramid will put on a community information event to showcase the varied menu of activities and services that are available in the community and to work collectively to fill identified gaps.

The design team worked with the schools to create a scale 3D model of their selected area showcasing the community facilities in each area and raising awareness of what is available in the community in general. The scale models of the areas served by each of the schools then came together as one large community map for use on the information day to generate interest from the children's extended families.

Creative consultant, James Copp said: "The work was created by the kids with a great deal of enthusiasm, and provides an eloquent and easily accessible representation of what they think - good, bad and indifferent - of the areas in which the live, play and go to school. Everyone - pupils, teachers and parents - who took part were very honest and forthright about what changes they would like to see made."

This new project hopes to provide a benchmark for future projects in other areas in getting schools to work together when looking at, and addressing, community needs and has already generated widespread interest from members of the community and local police officers.
