Story

Pupils, teachers and parents in Barnsley are transforming teaching and learning as part of a Creative Partnerships project which will focus on creative multimedia and the designing of original content as a creative means to enrich the curriculum.

Springvale Primary School has been working with creative agent, Richard Jackson on the project which has involved digital master classes with a view to teachers and pupils being able to successfully create multimedia narratives as another dynamic form of communication.

Staff CPD has focused on photography, moving image and digital soundtracks to inspire and enrich teaching and learning. Pupils from Year’s three, four and five will act as peer mentors, enhancing leadership skills while improving the digital competencies that will stand them in good stead for the 21st century’s ever-changing technological world.

The school is enjoying its new build, a fabulous new learning environment and part of the CP project will involve fitting plasma screens into reception, creating a digital wall giving teachers and pupils a ‘creative gateway’, through which their content and creative presentations can be showcased and access to learning increased.

This exciting project will form part of the school’s creative development, allowing staff and pupils to create innovative content and digitally document their learning, transforming the curriculum with the support of Creative Partnerships BDR.
